UK and Israel Issue Joint Call for R&D Projects in Water Security

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) in the UK and MATIMOP, the Israeli Industry Centre for R&D, have issued a joint call, inviting proposals for step-change solutions to address overseas and future water security challenges in any aspect of the blue water cycle.

This call for joint UK-Israeli R&D projects is operating in association with the UK’s 2012 Water Security Competition for Feasibility and Collaborative R&D Funding. The deadline for submissions is 2 May 2012 and proposals must be focused on water security.

The competition itself is being administered and funded in the UK by the TSB, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). However, British Water is supporting this initiative further by providing a platform, in partnership with MATIMOP, to pin-point and connect appropriate UK and Israeli water companies for potential collaborative projects.

This move by British Water, who represent the United Kingdom’s water industry supply chain, follows the recent Memorandum of Understanding between themselves and MATIMOP.
