The Trade & Economic Newsletter, January 2012

Dear friends and colleagues,

Happy New Year!

The past twelve months have been a great success with a growing amount of business relationships, deals and events taking place between the UK and Israel.

2011 saw the publishing of BIS’ “Trade and Investment for Growth” White Paper which singled out Israel as an important strategic partner:
As the UK government set out a number of policies to deliver long term growth and prosperity, it specifically mentions the aim to “encourage a stronger partnership between British and Israeli companies in innovation, high technology, and science."
The Israeli industry has also recognised the UK as a key partner, with the UK now Israel's second largest export market after the USA.

2012 will be an exciting year in the UK, with the London Mayoral elections, Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic & Paralympics Games.
The Trade & Economic Office also has planned for this year a wealth of activities and events to enhance business relationships and expose opportunities.
Next month, amongst other projects in which we are engaged, two notable highlights are:
The team is actively involved in these events so do contact us for further information.

Wishing you a successful and enjoyable 2012.
